When you just play a Game and when you Compete in Tournament; aren’t these two different in impacting life or outlook of a person.
Participating in tournaments:
Makes you understand Winning and Losing;
Setting things right for Understanding Self better
Makes one ready to adopt to failure in life or take it in a stride.
One starts doing SWOT analysis at an early age; introspecting what he / she lacks or what he / she is good at.
Probably Understands humility also better.
Self development is taken seriously by individual himself.
He / She unknowingly starts doing Goal Setting for themselves.
Would understand Camaraderie better; be it a Team or Individual Sport,
There are many more advantages / benefits and hence should we not put the kids / youth through Competitive Sports; rather than putting them to just play some game without any outcomes or giving him or her a false notion of having played something their youth!!!
Do I need to check if our kids / youth i s going through a Grind of Competitive Sport.
Your views please.
I was wondering about why not have it as regular event in our system; is it only for the people who want to go for competitions or can it be a part of our daily workout regime.
Benefits as i look at it are as follows:
It provides you with a variety in Fitness Training over a week.
It can be one of the best cross-Training methods to develop endurance, strength and give yourself a complete body exercise.
It can improve your self confidence (i.e Mental Strength)
Body weight no doubt remains under check!! If you are a Triathlete, burgers and pizzas and whatever will get consumed no matter in whatever quantity you eat!!
Make you meet people from different walks of life and different sports and perception.
If you are attempting it for the first time; experience it once; we need to Venture in to Unknown, to Understand Self better!!
There are many such benefits but as i look at it; I got to do it myself (a Bottom Line).
Many who may be good runners but over the years have kept even learning the swimming (a Basic essential) on the back burner. get to swimming pool and learn it and experience the thrill of swimming.
Look forward to see you all in strength with your Family and Friends on 14 Jul 2013 at Tilak Tank, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune

Is there a connection between these two i.e. Playing sports and Development of Children? Certainly, there is when one looks at sports as an recreational activity.. When one plays a sport be it Individual or team,
The child goes through a process of continuous interaction for the said duration.
He / she watches, observes others and learn from them.
He / she understand / abide by rules of the game and thus learn discipline.
He/ she builds self confidence, it instills aggression apart from building physical fitness and cohesiveness within the players.
Does it not give a understanding of patience or perseverance.
The child also learns creativity by changing moves or elements of surprise (how to use it to defeat the opponent!!)
With the fitness level increasing he / she develop better motor abilities apart from co-ordination limbs and eyes. Fitness also brings about betterment of cardio-vascular strength, which brings about good blood / oxygen circulation; in turn benefiting in overall growth.
Winning and losing is best understood in the sport by children; thus preparing them to accept defeat or taking defeat in a stride in later part of their life.
We can think of many such benefits of Sports. Thus isn’t there a need for each and every child to go through a sporting regime apart from computer games!!
